It’s almost that time to lace up the skates and hit the ice in downtown Port Jefferson.
On Friday, Nov. 29, the Harborfront Park ice skating rink — operated by The Rinx in Hauppauge — will be returning for its 12th season.
The outdoor rink, which is attached to the Port Jefferson Village Center, is widely popular in the area, typically drawing around 15,000 skaters per season, says Tom Palamara, owner of The Rinx.
“I like seeing children and families having a great time on the ice,” Palamara told GreaterPortJeff on Tuesday, “That’s the best reward for what we do every day.”
This year, the ice-skating rink — which offers scenic views of the Port Jeff Harbor — will be open seven days a week until closing on Sunday, March 8.
