Port Jefferson is one step closer to its revitalization of “Upper Port” with Conifer Realty & Developers bringing its Port Jefferson Crossing apartments to the uptown.
Demolition day was April 12, and soon enough, building will begin at the property located at 1615 Main Street, directly across from the LIRR Port Jefferson station.
“We are extremely excited about the ground breaking for Conifer which will spearhead the revitalization of our uptown neighborhood,” said Mayor Margot Garant of Port Jefferson. “Ten years in planning to create a new Master Plan and work with statewide officials, agencies and funding authorities will soon be paying off. Thanks to all our partners who have made this possible.”
The project, which is planned to be affordable housing, is being erected at the site the formerly held the old Bada Bing restaurant and its neighboring decrepit buildings.
