Stony Brook University’s spring football season is over earlier than expected.
Stony Brook released broke the news today on Facebook with the following statement:
For the uninitiated, the Seawolves, like other FCS programs, postponed their 2020-21 season to this spring.
The team was scheduled to play in a shortened six-game regular season, which started in March and was supposed to run until mid-April.
The program made it clear to GreaterPortJeff that this springtime season was one-time-only and will return to its normal season this summer.
In the four games that SBU was able to play, the team went 1-3. The squad’s lone win came in its last game, where the Seawolves toppled longtime rival the University of Albany, 21-7.
