Suffolk County Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man who attacked a woman along a Port Jefferson Station trail on Tuesday.

Around 11:30 a.m., the 54-year-old victim was assaulted on the Greenway Trail, approximately ¼ mile from the eastern entrance in Port Jefferson Station.

According to police, she was knocked to the ground and the man put his hand over her mouth and made comments that were sexual in nature.

The man later fled when the woman screamed and another walker approached.

The attacker was described as Black, in his 30s, 5-foot-10 tall and heavyset.

Police believe the person of interest drove away in this Hyundai Elantra with a sunroof.
