Port Jefferson is kicking off the fall season with Pumpkinmania this Saturday.

From noon to 7 p.m., the event will feature pumpkin carving demonstrations at 148 East Main Street.

“These artists are really incredible,” said Barbara Ransome, director of operations of the Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, which is sponsoring the outing.

There will also be a pumpkin carving competition. The contest will feature two categories: adults and children. There’s a $5 fee to enter the contest. Judging starts at 4 p.m.

On Oct. 24, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Chandler Square, professional photographers will be on scene snapping family photos.

There will be a 1940 Vintage Back Ford staged that’s decked in a harvest theme.

There’s a suggested donation of $5 for this event.
