A longrunning tradition in Port Jefferson Village has been postponed due to the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
The Port Jefferson Hill Climb, which began in 1910, features vintage cars riding up massive inclines in the village.
It was supposed to happen this year on Oct. 10 for its 110th anniversary, but will now be pushed back until some point next summer.
“We will retry for August in 2021,” said Robert Laravie, an event organizer, on a new target date.
The event has run every five years since 2000, most recently happening up East Broadway in 2015. Click here for a video.
