Port Jefferson Mayor Margot Garant launched a new initiative to spotlight this year’s graduates of Port Jefferson High School, who had their senior year cut short due to the pandemic.

To do so, the village is lighting Main Street in purple for the entire month of June to honor the students, as well as the local teachers, administrators, and board of education.

“We wish the graduating seniors all the best and look forward to hearing about their life lessons and journeys as once a royal — always a royal!” said Garant. “Stay safe, and stay strong Port Jefferson. We love you! Keep shining!”
