Mather Hospital has established an emergency fund to help support hospital staff and patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital announced today.
“Our healthcare team at Mather has come together as one to ensure the safety of our patients, staff and community,” said Mather president Kenneth Roberts. “I would like to say we have overcome the worst of it, but we all know that’s not true.
“As with past challenges that have affected our Mather family, we will get through this together.”
The hospital has received numerous generous donations of food and medical supplies, but what is needed most are direct monetary donations, the announcement reads.
The gifts will help the hospital in small and large ways. Some money will go toward patient activity packs to occupy people’s time while visiting hours are suspended.
Also, the hospital is looking to provide thank-you care packages to departments and patient care units on the front lines, iPads that will connect patients with their loved ones, and medical equipment and personal protective equipment for staff members
