If there’s an old iPad laying around the house, Stony Brook University Hospital is urging members of the community to consider donating it.
The hospital is in need of these devices to keep inpatients connected to their providers and their families during the COVID-19 outbreak.
A SBUH spokesperson said they are looking for 100 iPads, used or new. Here are the models they will be accepting.
Before donating, the hospital is asking donors to reset the device (click here for instructions) and place it in a zip lock bag with a power cord, if possible.
“We will do our best to make your gift count and give someone comfort during these remarkable times,” reads a release sent to GreaterPortJeff.
To schedule a drop-off, contact Joan Dickinson, Stony Brook University’s community relations director, at COVID19donations@stonybrook.edu or call 631-219-0603.
Additionally, Stony Brook is looking for medical protective gear donations. Click here to learn more.
