At 1,200-square-feet, Luna Nova‘s new space at 230 East Main Street in Port Jefferson is three times bigger than its former location down the road.
And the customers are loving the more room, says the novelty store’s owner, Hana Arai.
“There is so much more space, people can move around more freely,” said Arai, who moved into the new location this past fall.
She originally launched Luna Nova at 116A East Main Street last year. There, she sold a variety of collectible items such as armadillo tales, alligator claws and even raccoon penis bones, as well as herbs and spices.
Now, with the larger building, there’s plenty of room for additional products.
“We a little bit more of everything,” she said. “We carry more plants, more skulls, and added jewelry.”
Luna Nova is operating in the space the previously held Birch & Main.
