The Port Jefferson Rotary Club is bringing back its popular Winter Golf Classic Putt & Pub Crawl to the village Saturday, Jan. 25.
From 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., everyone from solo golfers to teams of four will be trying to score their best marks on indoor putting greens at nine different restaurants and bars.
The shotgun-styled event starts and ends at Danford’s for the outing’s registration and award ceremony. After signing in, the participants will bop around the downtown to Barito, Billie’s, Gourmet Burger Bistro, C’est Cheese, Port Jeff Brewing Co., Ruvo’s, Tommy’s Place to showcase their putting game. Nantucket’s will serve as the tournament’s halfway house.
Each golfer will receive drink tickets and free appetizers, as well coffee, continental breakfast and light fare at the reception.
Come styling, says event organizer Michael Sceiford.
“A $100 will go to the best duo costume and $50 for the best single outfit,” said Sceiford.
In its third annual year, the putt putt bar crawl has been a powerful fundraising generator, raising over $16,000 in Year 1, and over $24,000 last year.
“This is a great event for you to kick those winter blues,” said Sceiford.
