Port-Opoly is back for its third go-around in downtown Port Jefferson.

The Port Jefferson Retailer Association, which organizes the game where patrons get the chance to win prizes by shopping at local retailers, says this is the largest amount of participating retailers ever.

In total, 28 businesses will be joining in on the Port-Opoly fun.

Here’s how it works:

Shoppers pick up their Port-Opoly game boards at any of the participating locations (which appear below in the mock game board).

The more stores that are visited, the more stamps, hole punches or special markings shoppers get on the back of their game boards.

The 2019 winners will be drawn from among the cards with the most stamps. This year participants can win up to $300 worth of prizes.

Some of those prizes included items from the different shops as well as “retailer bucks,” which are redeemable at participating locations as well.

Since launching, the game has become a hit says Steve Muñoz of The Amazing Olive, who is also the head of the retailer association.

“It is always a great turnout,” he said. “People are really excited to get a head start on their holiday shopping.”

This year’s game runs from Oct. 6 through Nov. 12.

There are some new faces taking part in this year’s Port-Opoly, including The Village Boutique, Luna Nova, and Jennifer Hannaford Studios.
