A day filled with putting, eating, and drinking is planned again for Port Jefferson Village.
The Port Jefferson Rotary Club is hosting its second annual Winter Golf Classic Putt & Pub Crawl on Saturday, Feb. 9.
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., everyone from solo golfers to teams of four will be trying to score the best marks indoors at nine different restaurants and bars. It will be shotgun-styled with each team starting at a different location.
There will be prizes for best finishes as well as $100 for best-dressed foursome team and $50 for the best single outfit.
In its inaugural year, the event netted $16,000 for different charities, fellowships, and scholarships.
The idea stemmed from the rotary’s president, Michael Sceiford, who participated in a similar event in Pennslyvania.
“We were looking for a new way to raise money to make a better impact on the local communities and around the world,” he said.
After the first year’s success, he knew organizing it again was a no-brainer.
“Some people said it was the best day of their year,” said Sceiford. “Everyone had a great time.”
Ticket prices are $125 per person, which includes food and drinks. You can bring your own putter, but there will be one provided as well.

- Port Jeff Brewing Co.
- Harbor Grille
- Tommy’s Place
*Nantuket’s will serve as a halfway house for golfers, a place to take photos and relax.
