Theatre Three’s newest production Art is hitting the mainstage this month.

From Jan. 12 to Feb. 2, the Port Jefferson theatre will be running the Tony award-winning play, written by famed playwright Yasmina Reza.

During the show, which follows life-long friends Serge, Marc, and Yvan, the audience goes through a journey to learn about what art is, as well as friendship, says Tara Grippe of the theatre.

“When Serge spends a small fortune on an unusual piece of modern art, he expects Marc and Yvan to be as excited as he is,” said Grippe.  “Instead, words fly and sparks ignite as the men square off over the canvas.”

And, according to the theatre, the production is filled with entertainment.

“With white-hot wisecracks and discerning commentary, ‘ART’ is a funny, sophisticated, humorous and provocative evening of theatre,” said Grippe.

Tickets for Art can be purchased online or at the box office.
