It’s that time of year again, time to bite into some sweet, juicy strawberries at Benner’s Farm in East Setauket.
The family-owned farm is hosting its 31st annual Strawberry Fair on Saturday, June 9, and Sunday, June 10.
“We wanted to give the strawberry its proper due and have a festival for it,” said Robert Benner, whose family has owned the farm for more than 40 years.
On both Saturday and Sunday, people can head to 56 Gnarled Hollow Road where they can try a variety of strawberry delights.
Some of the popular items that day are the handcrafted strawberry shortcake, freshly made jam, and lemonade infused with strawberries.
And, not to forget, the fan favorite homemade strawberry ice cream. You can even watch it being made.
“We do a history of strawberries when we make the strawberry ice cream,” said Benner.
In addition to the food, there will also be live music at this family-friendly event.
“We look forward to this event each year,” said Benner.
