In the wake of the Feb. 14 school shootings in Parkland, Fla, that killed 17, several schools on Long Island are considering enhanced security measures, including adding armed guards.
And Newsday is reporting the Miller Place district has already added four armed security officers. The guards, all retired NYPD officers, will be patrolling Miller Place High School, North Country Road Middle School, Laddie A. Decker Sound Beach School and Andrew Muller Primary School, according to Newsday.
